Joe, Your Mom and I connected just over a year ago and found that we were family. My Dad and Sheila are first cousins. In fact, Dad, Sheila, and I talked on several occasions. She shared her love of Yorkies and ribbons she’d won at Dog Shows. As a child she told me she loved to ride her pony and she texted me a photo of herself at about age 10 galloping that pony across a field. We got to see a photo of her adoption certificate and photos of you and Sheila meeting your Uncle William. I do a bit of ancestry research and had lost William and assumed that he wasn’t with us anymore. Sheila set me straight – that he is alive and well. I only wish I’d gotten to meet her in person and talk with her more. She will be missed. Your cousin, Cindy

When I received a phone message in December 2017 from a person suggesting she was my sister I did not know what to think since I was an only child and had no relatives. A call to Sheila found that she was adopted. My mother had told me of an affaire she had in Chicago, before she meet my father, but never mentioned a child. After further checking she was my half sister. Her research and that of Joe opened up the entire side of the Norwegian side of the family to people I thought were long passed. It was only a short time I new her, but she reminded me of mom. God I wish I had new her longer. I will miss someone I new for such a short time. My visit with her and Joe was one of the best times I had with a sister I thought I never had. May she rest on peace. William

Sheila was my mother Vivian Mouser’s best friend. When my mom passed away a year ago, I started calling Sheila “mom” and Joey became my brother. I knew her since I was a little girl, well over 50 years ago. She and I bonded during the past year. She knew she was going to heaven and wanted everyone to know Jesus!
